Zak Lawson –
Few years back, I started having a burning sensation on my tongue which progressed to the whole mouth after a week. My doctor said it is a Burning Mouth Syndrome that might be caused by my chronic acid reflux. I was given 100mg of Gabapentin to be taken 3 x a day. It helped some but I still feel the burning sensation from time to time. After a week on gabapentin, my doctor increased my dose to 300mg 3 x a day. At this dose the burning sensation is completely gone. I’m on my 4th week now without the symptom and I’m due to see my doctor again next week for follow up to know if I’m completely cured.
